Spend bounce break making connections at employer trek ! Washington, D.C. CONNECT is designed for students in any academician year and major. Expand your network, learn about careers in DC, polish professional development skills, and gain insights into working and living in the DC area !
Students will attend the Washington, D.C. Employer Treks as a age group. fare from Binghamton to DC, arsenic well as hotel stays, are free for students who are accepted to attend !
Attend a mandatary data school term ( time/dates below ) to learn more about this course of study and how to apply ! Space is limited .

Mandatory Information Session

You must attend ONE  information school term Feb. 7-13 ( in-person OR  complete our on-line session ) to be eligible to apply to DC CONNECT.

  • Mandatory Information Sessions

    You must attend any one of the postdate information sessions OR complete our on-line information session in order to be eligible to apply to DC CONNECT .
    In-Person Info Sessions

    • Monday, Feb. 10. – 6pm (UU 120)
    • Tuesday, Feb. 11 – 6pm (UU 120)
    • Wednesday, Feb. 12 – 6pm (UU 120)
    • Thursday, Feb. 13 – 1:15 pm (UUW 324)

    Online/Virtual Information Session
    Students are welcome to complete our on-line virtual information session to be eligible to attend Washington, DC CONNECT .
    Deadline to complete the online information session is Friday, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m.
    Online information session instructions:

    1. Click the link above to access the online information session
    2. Login to Panopto using your PODS credentials.
    3. Watch the video and answer all questions embedded in the video. **You must receive
      a score of 100% on the quizzes to be eligible to apply for DC CONNECT. You can retake
      the quizzes for any answers you got incorrect.

    * * * All students interest in attending the DC CONNECT Employer Treks must attend an information seance listed above even if you have previously attended Employer Site Visits in NYC, Boston, Washington, D.C. or Silicon Valley .

  • How to Apply for Washington, D.C. CONNECT

    You must update your hireBING profile prior to applying for this program.
    Apply to attend the 2020 Washington DC Employer Treks in hireBING. Attend a mandatary information school term to be eligible to apply. information on how to apply to these programs will be shared in the information sessions.

    Note : You will be alerted if you do not meet all qualifications, however your application will hush be received .

  • Washington, D.C. CONNECT 2020 Student Agreement

    1. Download the compulsory Washington, D.C. CONNECT 2020 Student agreement shape here : mandatary DC CONNECT 2020 Student Agreemt
    2. accept students should print, complete and return the form to the Fleishman Center in UU-132 by March 9, 2020 .

    • Immediately:  Update resume and your hireBING report .
    • Washington, DC CONNECT Registration Opens: Sunday, Feb 16 at 5 pm
    • Registration Closes: Sunday, Feb 25 at  5 p.m.
    • Acceptance Email Sent: Feb 26
    • Washington, DC Cancellation Deadline: March 9 at 5 p.m.
      Complete Mandatory DC CONNECT Student Agreement
       Return your completed form to the Fleishman Center in UU-132 by March 9, 2020.

  • Do’s and Don’ts During Your Employer Treks


    • Take notes
    • Display enthusiasm and appreciation
    • Write down names of the professionals
    • Dress professionally – Suits Only
    • Bring your resume and portfolio – you may or may not hand it out but best to be prepared
    • Research the firm you are attending
    • Prepare well thought out questions
    • Give yourself enough travel time (buses, trains are unreliable)
    • Arrive 30 minutes prior to the visit
    • Meet the group in the lobby
    • Bring your photo ID
    • Write down the address and cross streets
    • Stand out and make the most of these opportunities
    • Ask for contact information if the opportunity arises, we do not provide contact information
      unless the hosts states you can get it from us
    • Give yourself at least an hour between visits to travel to the next one
    • Leave the visit with the entire group
    • IMPORTANT – Check your hireBING profile to make sure it is accurate. Your hireBING
      profile will shift and it may not be accurate. You can manually change it.
    • Use professional etiquette at all times


    • Wait until the end to ask a question
    • Wait until the end to engage with professionals
    • Be late
    • Be distracting in any manner (play on your phone, fall sleep, etc.)
    • Go up to the visit without a staff member​
    • Ask for a job and or internship – unless they discuss open positions during the visit
    • You may ask the type of skills and or qualifications they look for in a candidate,
      or what makes someone successful at this company
    • Stay longer than the allotted time. Professionals need to get back to work and we
      do not want to overstay our welcome
